Welcome!

This is the place where I'll be posting bits and pieces from here and there (the creative scraps and incomplete works), hopefully documenting my creative journey of self improvement!

Reference Study #11

So this will probably be the last painting I do for the year, and I'm pretty happy to end the year off with this piece. I'm now using colour! Mwahahahahaha! So yeah, I started this one initially as a speed painting to just get comfortable splashing colour around and working values, but after a short while I realised I was really enjoying the progress that I was making so I just kept going and decided to refine it.
I found a reference image of actress Emmy Rossum after I had this really vivid dream where she was in it - quite weird, but that's how it goes. I started this painting a couple weeks back, however after getting about 3/4 of the way through, I had to stop working on it because of other commitments, but once I finally had some time free I was able to sit down and finish it off. Proportions are a little off here and there, and ofcourse I'd like to have spent more time refining some things, however I've decided that I shouldn't get too hung up on this one but try and keep pushing myself with the next one I do.
